Altar Linen Care
The Women of OLGC launder and iron altar cloths and small linens at home on a rotating weekly basis.
Skill: a caring eye for detail and desire to help behind the scenes.

Altar Servers (Guidelines for the Ministry of Server)
All boys and girls in the parish in grades 4 through 12 are invited to serve Mass on a rotating basis for Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses, and may serve at weddings, funerals and other Parish liturgical functions. Church Environment
Coordinates the placement and maintenance of flowers, plants, and season decorations in the Church and Chapel for seasons and feasts; rotates duties every 3-4 weeks.
Special skills: enjoy working with plants.

Baptismal Bibs
The Women of OLGC sew small white bibs with hand embroidered cross for presentation to each infant at Baptism; work done at home.
Special skills: basic sewing skills and enjoyment of needlework.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Serve the parish by assisting priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood at Masses each weekend and special feasts; opportunity to serve the homebound and hospitalized parishioners. Diocesan commissioning extends the right to serve for 5 years. Diocesan and parish training required.
Diocesan Requirement: 21 years of age and in Good Standing with the Church

Lectors
Proclaim God’s Word at all Sunday liturgies, feast days, and special services; assignments rotate every 4 weeks through scheduled Masses; training required and provided.
Diocesan Requirement: Confirmation and in Good Standing with the Church

Liturgy Planning Committee
Group of dedicated and active parishioners meets once a month to help prepare, develop, and evaluate parish liturgies and seasonal programs.
Special skills: willingness to learn, dedication to practice good liturgy.

Music Ministries (Adults)
Open to voice and instruments. Four choirs available at present:
Contemporary Choir sings the 9:30 a.m. Mass,
Traditional Choir sings at the 11:15 a.m. Mass,
Young Adult Ensemble sings at the 5:30 p.m. Sunday Mass,
Resurrection Choir, sings at Funeral Masses.
Cantors lead the singing at each Mass except the 7:00 a.m.
Special skills: reading music is not a requirement; attendance at rehearsal once a week and before Mass, commitment to weekly attendance.

Sacristans
Fulfill duties to prepare the altar, sacred vessels, and vestments for each liturgy; open and close the church when necessary. May assist at funerals. Training provided within parish.
Special skills: dependability, an eye to detail.

Ushers/Greeters
Men, women, and young adults age 14 and up offer hospitality, assist at Communion, help when emergencies arise, take up collections, distribute weekly bulletins, locate gift bearers.
Special skills: dependable, friendly disposition and quiet respect; training provided.

Wedding Coordinators
Volunteers assist brides and their families during the the rehearsal and wedding day. They assist in organizing, answer questions and offer hospitality to guests.
Special skills: willing to work certain weekend hours, pleasant disposition and dependability, welcoming personality.
